Where is El Nino?

The weather broadcasts for the past two years have not used the word El Nino at all. The weather pattern governed by warm ocean currents in the west resulting in warmer than normal temps and higher than normal rainfall as well as a bit more “Wild” weather is not here. The result, comfortable cool temperatures, and mostly clear skies in the Algonquin Park region. We’re greatly enjoying the more moderate summer. We’ve also had a cooler winter the past two years. Here’s hoping for an El Nino effect this autumn to extend the summer and bring us a more mild winter with lots of snow. OH, did I say that outloud? Too early to speak of winter…. I promise, no more until late November.
