Fall in Algonquin
It is hard to believe that it is October 27 and 10 degrees out. What an incredible fall season we have been having. Now that the leaves are off the trees, a new and different landscape has been exposed. The true “lay of the land” can now be seen, exposed rock, hidden ponds, and more. It is always interesting to see what really lies beneath the green canopy of summer.
Tonight we will also be treated to a rare fall occurrence, a lunar eclipse. The last few nights have been spectacularly bright as the moon has been filling out, gearing up for tonight’s big show. Around 9:30PM the eclipse is supposed to be at its peak, casting a dim orangish glow on the earth. I plan to catch this rare sight tonight, and perhaps report back tomorrow.
I do enjoy the fall season!
