Bon Voyage to the Monks of Gaden Jangtse

Over the past 6 days we’ve played host to a wonderful group of Tibetan Monks. We’ve shared in inspiring lectures on Buddhist practices, learned about the meaning of prayer flags, witnessed the 5 day creation of a sand mandela - the Medicine Buddha mandela, witnessed a fire puja healing ceremony, shared an evening performance of many traditional Tibetan dances and other performances - including meeting the mythological Snow Lion!
We also shared a wide variety of Northern Edge style program elements with the monks including singing songs, making tie-died flags, drumming and making music together, paddling canoes, going on nature hikes and more.
Thank you for the monks coming and sharing their culture, teachings and peaceful ways with us and our retreat guests and day visitors. We have all been touched in some unspoken way.
