Mid May - bring on the Wildlife

It’s time for moose and deer sightings - especially in the early morning or late afternoon. If you are driving near Algonquin Park, drive with care.
We’ve seen a few minks and foxes skirting the edge of the forest this week.
Also, I’m starting to scout the side of the road for Turtles. Over the next few weeks, female snapping turtles will be creeping out of the ponds and marshy areas looking for gravelly sand to bury eggs in. Fortunately/Unfortunately it seems the gravel at the side of the road en route to the Edge seems to be just the right texture. I’ll also start carrying my camera in my car on my drives to town and I promise to post images if I see any wildlife.

Can you believe it’s mid-May already? Whew, bring on summer.
