Turtles are crawling forth and laying their pingpong ball-like eggs in the gravel at the side of roads that run along the edges of creeks and bogs. This morning I saw three; two over their nests dropping dozens of eggs into a 40 cm deep holes and this one bravely scrambling across the road back to its marshy home.

In a few days, we’ll see a number of shell pieces over these nest sites as foxes and raccoons have lunch in the Algonquin Park circle of life.
