algonquin's renowned ecology lodge has an earth roof The Edge is one of Canada's model ecotourism destinations at Algonquin Park. The Edge is clean, green and dedicated to sustainability. Located on the edge of Algonquin Provincial Park, one of the oldest and largest canoe parks in North America, the landscape affords us many opportunities. Ecotourism principles and practices which respect the land ensure long term sustainability.

Our solar-powered facility is a natural safe place for guests to enjoy the comforts of home.

Whenever possible, The Edge uses appropriate technologies and materials to minimize our impact. We compost organic material, recycle and generate electrical power using solar energy. We even grow some of our own food for Algonquin Park canoe trips and retreats in our veggie gardens.
