their stories. If we're lucky the Northern Lights (aurora borealis) may even
put on a show.
Birds and Things
that Fly: Join one of Ontario’s renowned naturalist/birders
on a nature excursion to meet the wide area of birds at home in the
Algonquin Highlands. Identify black capped chickadees, gray jays,
crossbills, and more.
Finding your Edge

can help to bring about a sense of peace in a sometimes unbalanced world. At
the lakefront, stretch your body and still your mind, finding sanctuary from
the stress of life in the city.
Hockey Night in
Canada: We’ll bring out the nets, sticks and jerseys for an
old-fashioned game of shinny hockey, followed up by a traditional hot stove
session in Points North (includes skate rental).
Making Tracks -
Snowshoeing:
Enjoy the quiet of winter on a walk in the forest seeking out the tracks of
wildlife or choose to snowshoe on the lake and leave tracks of a different
sort. A backcountry lunch nicely compliments this experience.
Curling: Let’s have a bonspiel! We’ll provide the keys to the South River
Curling club, set you up with equipment, and instruction as well as provide
some entertaining games for everyone to enjoy.
Spirit of the
Drum: Exploring the Power of Symbols, Ceremony, Words:
Look within and learn how to accomplish your goals with less
effort and more joy. Learn to use three simple tools to motivate and
challenge yourself to live the life you dream.
Quest for the Golden Nectar:
Join us in our Sugar Shack to tap trees, boil sap and bottle your own home
made maple syrup in a decorative bottle. A perfect addition to a late-winter
retreat.
The Tom
Thomson Experience: Take a hike with an artist who will teach you
to see with an artists eye and help you record your impressions using a
variety of artistic tools. Later, fireside, learn local stories of
Algonquin's most famous artist.
